The range has 11 peaks over 600m, none of which are over 914m (3000 ft). There are access points which we will use at Capel Curig, Tanygrisiau (near Blaenau Ffestiniog), and just off the A498 by Nantgwynant. The range is difficult to access using public transport, especially in winter. There is a bus service to Capel Curig, and the Snowdon Sherpa can be used to access Nantgwynant. Tanygrisiau is best reached using the railway, and there are trains from Llandudno Junction, and also Caernarfon.

The range is generally boggy, and especially so on the Nantgwynant side. The Moelwyns themselves are not so boggy, and Moel Siabod is a mountain which is well worth climbing just to look across to the Snowdon Horseshoe.

As usual variations on the walks, and how to cut them short will be given. Each route description includes a rough idea of time, a description of the route and its difficulty. There are also photos taken on the walks.
